Four Years of Urology
Thirty years in the medical field
with twenty of those in emergency med
has given me tons of amazing stories
to share with all of my friends.
Four years now in a urological practice
have left my finger pretty damn smart.
I can tell a tumor from a seminal vesicle
and that is just for starts.
Piss holes, bollocks and all that stuff
are for me an everyday sight
I know how to slide in a catheter
faster than she can say, “Not tonight!”
This ain’t stuff I can share at parties.
My ER stories were perfect for that.
I don’t dare start telling urological tales,
or even mention the scat.
My kids used to be proud of their ‘ole man
with bloody stories from the glorious ER.
But now I am just an embarrassment.
It is so hard to hide who we are.
Though very shortly I may land a new job,
leaving this apparent shame far behind.
I must say that these years in urology
have taught me more than just about my pride.
My elderly patients have been a true joy
as they share boldly their loves and their fears.
The problems with pee and cum
have made me wiser in these four years.
