Above is the tree our children grew up swinging on. It was demolished this week. The tree is called a “Tree of Heaven” (wiki) but despite its name (or perhaps similar to its name) the tree is actually deadly because it becomes hollow as it ages and falls easily in the wind. Termites also did damage to some parts. So as branches started falling off and we read about the tree, we realized that Heaven had to go before it harmed our children. 🙂
Raivenne, at D’verse Poets Pub, prompted us to write a poem in a Burmese style called “Than Bauk“. Below my poem I have copied the Excel spread sheet I used to make sure I got the rhyming pattern correct. I thought readers may enjoy seeing my method. If you’d like the Excel spread sheet, click here.
